Skins Are Persistent Player Assets
Cosmetic skins = Player assets.
If Player Dies wearing Skin, Player does not lose the skin.
The skin is automatically returned to the Player’s available pool of skins and can be applied again to another eligible Character later.
Skins = valuable long term cosmetic items, that Players can continue using across multiple Characters.
Character skin are visible to other Players exploring the world alongside you.
A Large Library of Skins
Because of large collection available t is possible that some skins may initially present minor display issues.
The First Step Toward Deep Customisation
Release of full body skins = first step in Earth 2’s cosmetic customisation system
In the future, cosmetic options will expand, to include individual clothing items allowing further player customization.
The release of full body skins represents just the first step in Earth 2’s cosmetic customisation system.
Gameplay systems will eventually allow Players to customise skins themselves.
Cosmetic Trading and the Future of Player Shops
Cosmetic skins will result in future player driven economy, Players will eventually be able to sell skins and other cosmetic items directly through shops on E2 player owned land.
The initial entry level shop system will not support skin trading, when more advanced shop structures in the EcoSim are developed skin sales & trades will become possible.
A Milestone for Character Identity
Frst step in that journey, bringing personal visual identity into E2V1, Players will gain increasing control over how their Characters appear within the world.
Changing Skins During a Game Session
At this stage, Players will be able to change their Character’s skin during a game session as many times as they like, without needing to restart their session – not common with other platforms.
This is known as in-session skin switching.
As the cosmetic system evolves and more gameplay systems interact with Character appearance, the rules surrounding skin changes may evolve as well.
Backpack Visibility Option – new option allowing Players to hide their backpack, toggle backpack visibility, making it invisible while still retaining its functionality.
